Taking Control of Diabetes Through Self-Expression

Having type 1 diabetes is a daily balancing act. People with T1D have to manually do the job of an organ (the pancreas) that most people never have to think about, every day, 24/7, with no breaks, ever. Sometimes it can begin to feel like diabetes is in control of your life. Divabetic aims to put some control back into the diabetic's hands. Divabetic is a diabetic accessary brand currently focused on creating adhesive patches for continuous glucose monitors that can match various outfits or moods. Divabetic is a passion project of mine. As a type 1 diabetic and artist, I want the ability to express myself even through my disability. In the future, I am aiming to extend the product line and create more accessories for fellow diabetics.

There are many CGM patches on the market but many of them are either very basic, or marketed with designs for children.

I wanted to create something more elegant and mature for young women to take control of their diabetes in their fashion.
