Chicago Votes X Rattleback Records Event Promotional Flyer
Records for Records is an event between Chicago Votes and the record store Rattleback Records. The event takes place yearly during national record store day in order to gain more traction and attention for political matters in Chicago. This year Rattleback held a raffle which allows enterers to share information and provide signatures to Chicago Votes for the R.A.C.E. act.
The event organizer reached out to me in need of
a promotional flyer to post around the neighborhood and share online to get people interested in the event. The poster needed to attract attention and make a statement.
The organizer wanted the flyer to be reminiscent of classic punk show posters and gave me examples from the Ramones as well as inspiration from the film
Spiderman: Into The Spider-verse.
I was super excited to be part of this project because it was up my alley and aligned with my interests. I was inspired by the collage style of the Ramones posters and the graffiti style art frequently featured in the Spider-verse movies.
I also wanted to include a halftone effect to give a grungy look and add another callback to Spider-verse's distinct style.
